GODSMACK: New Song Available For Streaming
June 25, 2009GODSMACK's brand new track called "Whiskey Hangover" is available for streaming at this location. It can also be heard below. The arrival of the song is no doubt timed to promote the band's appearance this summer on Crüe Fest 2, where they'll be second on the bill under MÖTLEY CRÜE. GODSMACK is scheduled to begin recording its fifth studio album once the tour is finished, but there's no word on whether the new tune will be included in the eventual release.
Although GODSMACK is used to headlining its own tours, frontman Sully Erna told The Pulse of Radio he has no problem going on before the CRÜE. "You know, we never try to put ourselves in an opening act position, and nor do we feel like we're an opening act," he said. "And I'm pretty sure that CRÜE, you know, asked us on this tour because they know that we're good for attendance, to bring a lot of bodies into the arena as well, and I think they'll understand what caliber band we are, and that we put on a pretty big show ourselves."
Crüe Fest 2, which also includes THEORY OF A DEADMAN, DROWNING POOL, and new act CHARM CITY DEVILS, kicks off on July 19 in Camden, New Jersey.
GODSMACK's new album is not due out until early 2010. Erna has also recently completed work on his first solo effort, but a release plan for that remains yet to be unveiled.
